Dr. Turner is a Board-Certified Adult Psychiatrist with a strong emphasis on patients who suffer from anxiety, advanced depression and may be treatment-resistant.
Upon entering medical school, Dr. Turner originally planned to become a surgeon. She enjoyed all her rotations while starting to find that, for her, many of the specialties focused on the problem or symptom vs. the more holistic treatment of the entire patient. She also noticed that she was drawn into talking with patients and hearing about their past and present. And during her psychiatry rotation, she realized she found her new calling. She enjoyed listening to patients’ stories and treating the whole person. She knew that psychiatry would be her pursuit and profession.
Dr. Turner most recently worked in outpatient consultation psychiatry. She helped patients ages 18 and up, including diagnosing mental illness, full medical workups, and creating and implementing treatment plans. She focused on medically complex patients, be it with psychopharmacology or other psychotherapies.
She is excited to use Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as a beneficial treatment in helping patients that may be treatment-resistant. She sees that interventional psychiatry has been underutilized and she is committed to helping her patients find improvement and recovery using treatments and therapies with strong outcomes and advancing the use of TMS to help patients that have not found relief thru medication or other therapies.
Dr. Turner joined TMS Health Solutions in the Fall of 2018.
