San Francisco, CA (September 19th, 2017) – TMS Health Solutions announced today that they have opened a new clinic in Burlingame focused exclusively on treating depression. “Given the widespread and growing impact of depression on society as well as the ongoing suffering of patients with mood disorders, we wanted to be laser-focused on treating patients with depression at this location,” said Richard Bermudes, Chief Medical Officer.
There will be three psychiatrists treating patients at the Burlingame depression clinic. Dr. Noah DeGaetano is a Board Certified psychiatrist with received extensive training in psychopharmacology. Dr. Abel Bumgarner, joining the practice in the late Fall, is a Board Certified, Adult Psychiatrist with a passion for treating patients suffering from mood disorders. Dr. Richard Bermuders, Chief Medical Officer, will also be seeing patients out of the new location.
The depression clinic, located at 1860 El Camino Real, Suite 250, is close to both Millbrae Bart and Caltrain stations and directly located across the street from Mills-Peninsula Medical Center, a Sutter Healthcare provider. “Convenient patient accessibility for people suffering from clinical depression is of the utmost importance for us. It’s our mission to focus on treating patients with depression and increase overall access to Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, a highly effective treatment. One way we’re able to do this is by opening new locations with best-in-class healthcare providers,” said Brad Hummel, CEO, TMS Health Solutions.
As depression is the second greatest cause of disability worldwide with an estimated 350 million people affected, TMS Health Solutions’ team of clinicians and staff have dedicated their lives to treating people with mental health conditions, with a focus on helping people with treatment-resistant depression, and providing the most advanced treatments available.

About Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy:
Cleared by the FDA in 2008, TMS is a drug-free, non-invasive therapy for patients who suffer from treatment-resistant depression. It is administered in a physician’s office in an outpatient setting. By using a MRI-strength magnetic field to stimulate the prefrontal cortex of the brain, the core symptoms of major depression can be relieved. Unlike antidepressants or Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), patients undergoing TMS therapy experience minimal side effects.
